Dr. Who?
Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School, Tokyo
is a life-drawing event that takes place once a month in the Pink Cow, Shibuya. We search Tokyo to find sexy people who model for you for about three hours. In between poses there are contests with cool prizes, sexy performances, drinks and all sorts of mischief. Here is a schematic of what happens:
All you need to do to join Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School, Tokyo is to come to the Pink Cow, Shibuya (see venue) on the fourth Wednesday of the month (but please check the schedule first). The tickets cost 1500 yen, including a free drink! You can bring your own supplies (no wet paints though, sorry) or buy some basic stuff at the door.
No drawing experience necessary at all! And don't worry, nobody will be judging your pictures! :)
A Sketchy Story...
Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School is a chain of cabaret life-drawing sessions that circles the globe from New York to New Zealand. Started by the illustrious and oh so talented Molly Crabapple in 2005 her initial vision was of a decadent art class with fair pay and respect for models, boozy contests and cheeky good fun.
Dr. Sketchy Tokyo was started by Dillon Font and Alison Lloyd in March 2007. Since that time Dr. Sketchy has developed quite the underground following bringing in crowds of 40 or more to the monthly burlesque drawing class with little to no advertising! Fitting that many sketch pads into The Pink Cow is no small feat, so a special thanks goes out to all of you for your word-of-mouth power!
Tokyo being the wonderful little transient city that could has bid farewell to Dillon and Alison who have moved on to other Sketchtastic adventures. They passed the torch to Lady Elle, the Dr. Sketchy Tokyo MC/DJ/occassional model/website manager and Pawel Pohl aka Pawel Pohl artist/front door guy/webmaster .
TOKYOMADE is the proud sponsor of Dr. Sketchy Tokyo without which there would be no Sketchtastic prizes for Sketchy favorite contests like "Drunken Draw" and "What's in her box?"
TOKYOMADE is designed as an open window to a Tokyo Shopping adventure. As well as buying the latest products from hot independent designers, shoppers can check out what’s happening on the streets of Tokyo and pick up some of the hottest Tokyo must-haves..
